My name is Michael Volitich, and I’m currently attending the University of Florida, studying Creative Writing with a focus on sports. I guess you can consider me a lit and sports geek. While I'm not yet an expert on reporting about sports, it is something that I enjoy doing. To improve my craft, I follow my college's varsity teams and write about their matches. I also spend a lot of time reading sports biographies and autobiographies as well as watching sports-themed movies.
When it comes to books, I enjoy reading thrillers, high-fantasies, sports biographies, and autobiographies. I guess even in my choice of books, I'm looking for something that will give me a sense of thrill. And even if the list of my course requirements seems endless, I enjoy the recommended class readings. Schoolwork can be challenging, but I need to familiarize myself with the literary tradition.
There’s also another thing that I want to do more of—traveling. It can be time-consuming and expensive, but there’s no substitute for exploring new places and meeting new people.
