Sports teach us to appreciate every moment in our lives. Whether it results in a win or a loss, a person always learns something after a match. As a writer, my goal is to communicate the thrill of sporting events to my readers. Michael Volitich at your service. I'm a University of Florida student taking up Creative Writing with a focus on sports writing.
My desire to become a writer started with my love for books. Works by J.K. Rowling, Neil Gaiman, and Stephen King made me appreciate the written word. While I’m currently focusing on writing about the sports world, a part of me still wants to be a novelist someday. Thankfully, my course allows me to explore the different styles and genres of writing. I also appreciate the reading lists that enrich my scope as a reader.
When I have a long time away from school, I make sure to spend it traveling. It’s an excellent way for me to discover new things that I might be able to use in my writing.
